...great Riesling from the beautiful Mosel Valley in Germany

SLATESTONE RIESLING
by
von Schleinitz Estate

Gold Medal Winner
1997 - 2004

DLG tasting, Germany

The vines for Slatestone Riesling are grown on the steep terraces of the Mosel valley, where the soil consists of weathered slate providing the wines with mineral flavor. The Riesling grape with its low yield provides rich fruit and the cool climate and long growing season preserve a crisp acidity.

SLATESTONE DRY RIESLING

The first release of Slatestone Riesling - dry with green label - was the 1996 vintage and every vintage since we have won a National Gold Medal Award.

This wine shows wonderful fresh fruit on the nose, appears dry, with just a touch of fruit-sweetness on the palate and a dry clean finish supported by a refreshing effervescence. It is a medium bodied wine, that is a wonderful refreshing drink anytime and will accompany any lighter style cuisine.

Starting with the 1999 vintage the original
